This course provides a holistic approach to access and egress for disabled people and those with individual requirements when using your premises. It reviews the impact of legislation against human needs and how these considerations must be incorporated into the management and maintenance policies of your buildings. Means of escape for disabled people is covered in some depth in the second half, and the day includes plenty of workshop participation and practical sessions.

·         Examination of user needs & ‘reasonableness’
·         Design principles – spatial, visual, acoustic
·         Fire safety arrangements for disabled people
·         Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans [PEEPS]
